MacBook Air vs Asus Zenbook?

My main concerns are battery life and portability, as I'll be using it mostly for travel and remote work. I need something that can handle basic tasks like browsing, document editing, and light photo editing. I'm not doing any gaming or video editing. Which one offers better value for money, considering I want it to last at least 4-5 years?

If battery life is your top priority, the MacBook Air generally wins out. The M-series chips are incredibly power-efficient. However, the Zenbook often offers more ports and sometimes better screen resolution for a similar price. Check specific models and compare their battery specs and screen quality, as it can vary depending on the configuration. Also, factor in the cost of dongles if you go with the MacBook Air, as you might need them for external devices.

The MacBook Air generally offers better battery life and a more streamlined user experience. The Zenbook often gives you more ports and sometimes a dedicated graphics card for a similar price. If portability and battery are paramount, go with the Air. If you need more power for occasional heavier tasks and don't mind slightly less battery, the Zenbook is a solid choice.

The MacBook Air generally has better resale value if you decide to upgrade sooner than expected. The Zenbook's OLED screen is gorgeous, but consider the potential for burn-in over several years, especially with static elements like the taskbar visible for extended periods. If you do a lot of outdoor work, the MacBook Air's screen might fare better in direct sunlight despite not being OLED. For pure longevity and consistent performance under heavy use, the Air often wins out, though both are solid machines.
