Best laptop under $1,000 in 2026?
I need a laptop primarily for remote work, focusing on document editing, video conferencing, and light photo editing. Battery life is critical since I'm often working from cafes or while traveling. A decent screen for prolonged use is a must, but I don't need a dedicated graphics card for gaming. Portability is preferred, so something lightweight would be ideal.

Consider looking at the M3 MacBook Air (if it's still around that price). Otherwise, some of the higher-end Chromebooks are fantastic these days, especially if you do most of your work in the cloud. Check reviews for battery tests under realistic workloads before committing.

Check out the Acer Swift series. They usually offer a good balance of performance, battery life, and portability within that price range. Lenovo's IdeaPad line is also worth a look; often you can find models with excellent keyboards and solid build quality for under a grand.
