Remote job vs office job in USA?

My dilemma is this: I have two offers on the table. One is a fully remote software engineering position with a smaller, but rapidly growing company in the Midwest. The pay is slightly lower (around $110k), but the cost of living is incredibly low, and I'd have total flexibility. The other is an in-office role at a large, established tech firm in the Bay Area. The salary is significantly higher ($160k), but after rent and expenses, I'm not sure how much more I'd actually be saving. Also, I'm a pretty introverted person, so the thought of being in a bustling office environment every day is a bit daunting. Career growth is important to me, and I'm torn between the potential for rapid advancement in a smaller company versus the structured career path of a larger corporation. Which would you choose?

Run the numbers. Calculate your after-tax income in both scenarios, factor in cost of living (rent, transportation, food, etc.) in each location, and then subtract your loan payments.
