Is $95k enough in Denver?

My partner and I are considering a move, and Denver is high on the list, mostly for the access to the mountains. I work remotely, making $60k, and they're anticipating around $35k in a similar field. We don't have kids, but we do have two dogs. I'm mostly concerned about finding a dog-friendly apartment that isn't tiny and still allows us to save a bit each month.

That salary is doable, but it depends heavily on your expectations for housing. Look into neighborhoods like Baker, Highland, and maybe even some areas further out like Lakewood or Arvada to get more for your money. Be prepared for dog-related fees and pet rent, which can add up quickly. Factor in transportation costs too; a car is often necessary, but parking can be a pain.

You'll be able to live, but 'comfortable' is relative. Rent for a decent one-bedroom with parking in a walkable neighborhood will easily eat up a third of your take-home pay. Factor in utilities, groceries (which are higher than average), transportation even if you're close to downtown, and entertainment, and your savings will be tight. It's doable, but manage expectations. Consider roommates for the first year to build a financial cushion.
