Is $75k enough in Arizona?

I'm weighing a job offer in Phoenix, and the salary is $75,000. My main concern is cost of living, especially housing. I don't need a fancy place, but I would like a safe neighborhood and enough space for a home office. I'm single, no kids, and no major debt, but I also want to save a decent amount each month. Is that salary enough to live comfortably and still enjoy life?

75k in Phoenix can be livable, but "comfortable" depends on your definition and spending habits. Housing is the biggest factor. You can find decent apartments outside the downtown core for around $1500-$2000. Factor in utilities, transportation (car recommended), and groceries, and you're looking at roughly $3000/month in expenses. That leaves around $2000 for savings, entertainment, and other expenses. Negotiate higher if you want more breathing room or plan to live in a more desirable area.

That salary in Phoenix allows for a decent standard of living, provided you budget smartly. Housing costs vary greatly by neighborhood. You'll likely be able to find a suitable apartment or small house within a reasonable commute of Phoenix. Healthcare and transportation are other significant expenses to consider. I'd recommend creating a detailed budget to see how the numbers align with your desired lifestyle and savings goals. Consider also the area of Phoenix, as Scottsdale is significantly more expensive than other surrounding suburbs.
