IPhone 17e or iPhone 17?

My main concern is battery life; the 'e' version usually cuts corners there to lower the price. I also take a lot of photos, so how much am I really sacrificing in camera quality with the 17e versus the standard 17? Is the base storage the same? Trying to figure out if the trade-offs are worth the savings.

If battery and camera are your priorities, the standard iPhone 17 is the better choice. The 'e' models typically use a slightly older or less powerful camera sensor. You'll likely see a noticeable difference in low-light performance and image detail. Also, battery life is almost always reduced on the 'e' variant to save space and weight. Check the exact specs when released, but that's usually the pattern.

If camera and battery are your priorities, historically the standard models offer better performance. The 'e' variants often cut corners on these to lower the price. Check detailed specs when they're released, but that's usually the trend.

Given the budget constraint and camera priority, research DxOMark scores as soon as the phones are released; that'll give you objective camera performance data. Battery life will depend on usage patterns, but the 'e' models often make compromises there. If you're a heavy user, that could be a dealbreaker.
