Compare Lexus NX and RX?

I'm looking at the Lexus NX and RX, mainly for city driving with occasional longer road trips. Fuel economy is a big factor, but I also want a comfortable ride and decent cargo space. Is the RX's larger size worth the extra cost and lower MPG, or would the NX be a better fit for my needs? I'm also curious about the differences in their technology features and overall reliability.

The NX is noticeably more fuel-efficient, especially in the city. The RX provides a more spacious interior and smoother ride, which is advantageous for longer trips. If fuel costs are a primary concern, the NX is the better choice. The RX's increased cargo capacity is useful if you regularly haul larger items. Both are generally reliable, but check recent model years for specific issues.

The RX's longer wheelbase translates to a smoother ride, particularly noticeable on highways. However, the NX is surprisingly comfortable for its size, and unless you're consistently carrying passengers in the back or hauling cargo, the RX's extra space might be overkill. Fuel economy is better in the NX, expect a few MPG difference in combined city/highway driving. Consider test driving both back-to-back on the same route to compare yourself.
