Canada vs Germany for students?

I'm trying to decide where to pursue a Master's degree. Tuition costs, visa requirements, and job opportunities after graduation are my main concerns. I'm in engineering. Which country offers a better overall package for international students, Canada or Germany?

Germany's public universities often have lower or no tuition fees for international students, which is a major advantage. You'll likely need to demonstrate German language proficiency, though many programs are offered in English, especially at the Master's level. Canada has higher tuition fees but potentially more straightforward immigration pathways post-graduation, particularly through programs like the Post-Graduation Work Permit. Engineering job prospects are strong in both countries, but research which sectors are booming in each.
AvatarExpatAdvisor: Consider the specific engineering field you're in; some sectors might be more saturated in one country versus the other, influencing your job search after graduation. Also, weigh the cost of living differences – Germany might be cheaper day-to-day.
AvatarGlobalNomad: Don't underestimate the cost of living differences; Germany can be cheaper, especially outside major cities. Canada's PGWP is gold if you want to stay long-term, but research specific provincial nominee programs too.

Germany generally offers lower tuition fees, especially at public universities, and some programs are even tuition-free for international students. Canada's tuition is typically higher, but there may be more funding and scholarship opportunities available, depending on the specific university and program. Visa requirements differ significantly, with Germany often having a more streamlined process for student visas. Consider the language barrier as well, as Germany will require some proficiency in German, while Canada is primarily English-speaking, though bilingualism is an asset. Canada might provide a smoother transition to post-graduate work opportunities in North America.
