Best phone under $500 in 2026?
I'm future-proofing a bit and trying to figure out what phones will likely offer the best value around the $500 mark in 2026. I'm mainly concerned with camera quality, battery life, and software update longevity. Performance for gaming is not a priority. Ideally, it should have 5G and NFC, but I'm flexible on those if the other specs are excellent. What brands or models should I be watching for as we get closer to that time?

Consider looking at the mid-range offerings from Google (Pixel A series) and Samsung (A series). They tend to offer excellent camera performance and longer software support than other brands in that price bracket. Xiaomi's Redmi and Realme phones are also worth considering for raw specs, but check reviews on software support before committing.
